Conservation Quaker

The origins of our Quaker brand are rooted in the earth – starting with the whole grain oat. For this reason we are committed to sustainable business practices and to fostering a broad commitment to environmental sustainability for the benefit of our employees, our communities and the world we share.

We understand that achieving optimal environmental sustainability is a long-term journey. We have begun this journey by carefully evaluating each stage of our business, and identifying opportunities to improve every aspect of the way we bring our products to Canadians.

  • Our progress to date includes: We have reduced our electricity consumption by more than 20% for every unit of food we product since 2004;
  • We have reduced our natural gas consumption by more than 35% for every unit of food we produce since 2004;
  • We have installed high-efficiency lighting in 85% of our Peterborough manufacturing plant.

At PepsiCo Foods Canada, we incorporate sustainability practices into every facet of our Quaker operations to minimize our environmental footprint. As Canada's largest oat buyer, we take our responsibility seriously to leave as little environmental impact as possible.
